Tom Canty, a poor little child, dreams of being a true prince, as found in fairy tales.
One day, as his father forces him to beg in the streets of London, he meets Edward Tudor, Prince of Wales, the young heir to the Crown of England, who dreams to know the thrilling and free life of its people.
Realizing they are like two peas in a pod, they decide to switch places for some hours so that their dreams can come true.
But their misadventures begin when the young prince finds himself alone in the streets of London and as his uncle, the dark Lord Hertford, decides to profit from this child's play to get his hands on throne...
