QUEL FROMAGE - by Peter Milrose, Michael Colby, et al.
"Be There" and "Lana Laney" - Featured in A STAGE KINDLY presents "Encore". "My Song" featured in "Bravo".
QUEL FROMAGE is a revue of songs by acclaimed lyricist Michael Colby in collaboration with a variety of composers. The revue is based on a tribute presented by Amas Musical Theatre in NYC. The kaleidoscopic score ranges from traditional Broadway to blues, 50s rock 'n' roll to contemporary. Drawing from Mr. Colby's musicals, special material, and cabaret songs, QUEL FROMAGE features a series of character-driven, story-telling numbers, ranging from the ridiculous to the sublime. Some of the highlights are: the stirring "Be There" (a response to 9/11 with music by Steven Silverstein); the poignant "Lana Laney" (a vignette about a high school reunion; music by Peter Millrose); and the outrageous Gothic trio "The Boogeyman Boogie" (music by Ed Alstrom). Requires a cast of 3 to 8, and a pianist.
